When ASM rebalancing stops...!!!!
Was adding disks to ASM diskgroups few days back as a part of weekly space addition. Added one disk to each of the ASM diskgorup (CDBP and CDBP2). The disk space got reflected in both the diskgroups, but lot of interesting things were waiting for me. Dataguard Adventures...!!!!
These days i am working on a project where i have to build a DR for a 24 x 7 application between 2 datacenters (geographically apart) .Going to share my experiences/learnings being a part of this project.
This is a brief divison of tasks i am going to perform in a next couple of days....
Phase-I - Build Physical standby for the production database.
Phase-II - Configure DG Broker and test switchover between the two sites.
Phase-III - Perform DR rehearsal and test application with primary as well standby.
Phase-IV - Implement and test a robust Backup and Recovery strategy.
Will discuss the stuff soon....
